The Willkommen Committee of the New Ulm Area Chamber of Commerce recently visited Joe’s Camper Sales to welcome them as a new Chamber member.  Owner Joe Lamecker, along with family members and staff, shared the story behind the business, which has been serving customers for nearly 50 years. Originally operating as B + L Campers downtown New Ulm, the company outgrew its original space and built its current location in 2000. Today, Joe’s Camper Sales carries approximately 200 campers in inventory and works with three major manufacturers across eight camper lines.

Sales have grown significantly in recent years as vacation trends have shifted. The business has expanded to include fish houses and camper rentals. They also have indoor storage available for more than 50 units and a full-service shop with mobile technicians who assist customers on-site. Joe’s employs eight year-round staff members and continues to invest in growth, recently purchasing additional land across Broadway/Highway 68.

A highlight each year is the annual Joe’s Camper Show! The 29th Annual Indoor RV Camper Show, took place at the Civic Center March 18-22 this year, drawing customers from a five-state area. Known as the largest camper dealership in Southern Minnesota, Joe’s has received numerous service awards and serves customers far beyond the region, shipping campers to destinations including Florida, New York, Alaska, and Hawaii.
