The Willkommen Committee of the New Ulm Area Chamber of Commerce recently welcomed Jessica Lehman and Jena Schroepfer as new staff at Ivy House.

Jessica Lehman is a Family Advocate, and she works with families to make sure that they have the resources they need whether that be therapy, help with homelessness, autism, domestic violence, emergency daycare, or other things of that nature.  She has a lot of experience in these areas, having previously worked with domestic violence victims in Duluth.

Jena Schroepfer is the new Program Manager.  She makes sure things run smoothly and up to par as well as helping with things like childcare.  After studying theology and German, she was a live-in volunteer for an entire year at a maternity center in Chicago.  She wanted to move back home (originally from Sleepy Eye) and she felt God call her to “love well,” so she found this position.

This great team works hard to make sure that families in New Ulm are well-cared for.  They have wonderful support as the town has many resources for families, but they can always use more help.  They are currently looking for volunteers to help with things like auditing, paperwork, donations, cleaning, childcare, and Spanish interpretation.  Another way to help is to donate gas and grocery cards.
