New Member: Sean Koster, Superintendent for the New Ulm ISD #88

The Willkommen Committee of the New Ulm Area Chamber of Commerce recently welcomed Sean Koster, the new Superintendent for New Ulm Independent School District 88. Koster spent the last 14 years at Beacon Academy Charter School in Minneapolis, starting as the Assistant Principal, and then moving to the Executive Director/ Superintendent position. Koster said that when he heard the New Ulm job came open, it was his first choice for places that he wished to work. Sean started his new position here on July 1st, and states his immediate challenge would be to learn the New Ulm atmosphere. Sean started in education as a language arts teacher at a middle school in Robbinsdale, and later achieved a Master’s degree in Administration. “I believe that all children can learn, and I carry a record of success in leading and supporting colleagues in a driven mission to reach each child”, Sean Koster.
