The Willkommen Committee recently welcomed three new staff members, Mark Schuelke, Karen Haala, and Crystal Johnson, to the New Ulm Area Chamber of Commerce team.  Chamber President/CEO, Sarah Warmka is thrilled to have a full staff to further the Chamber’s mission.  Mark Schuelke, a native of Lafayette, was hired last October but recently transitioned to Business Services Manager.  Mark served in the US Navy from 1988 to 2010, as a Naval Aircrewmen and Rescue Swimmer, conducting special operations during the 1990’s in multiple Helicopter Squadrons overseas.  Karen Haala, from Hanska, was hired as Tourism and Member Services Manager.  Most recently, Karen was the business manager for the New Ulm Steel Jr. Hockey Team and has worked in the New Ulm area for over 20 years.  She is an active volunteer in the community and continues to serve on several boards and committees.  Crystal Johnson, who grew up in the Chaska region, is the new Office Manager.  Crystal moved to the New Ulm area in 2020, and most recently worked for the Harmony Inn in New Ulm, while continuing her online education and working as a peer tutor.  Please welcome Mark, Karen and Crystal in their new roles for the New Ulm Area Chamber of Commerce.
