The Minnesota National Guard Field Maintenance Shop held a ribbon-cutting ceremony recently, to celebrate their new facility! The New Ulm Area Chamber of Commerce’s Willkommen Committee had the opportunity to tour the building and meet with representatives, who described the building process. The new facility is over double the size of the previous building, creating more jobs and opportunities for the Minnesota National Guard and our community. Currently, they are working on the plans to build a new National Guard Readiness Center across from the Field Maintenance Shop, which is scheduled for 2025. With about 100 soldiers traveling to New Ulm for drill monthly, these new buildings could triple these numbers and enhance training. Thank you, Minnesota National Guard, for making this commitment and investment in our community – congratulations!
