New Ulm Area Chamber Foundation Awards Scholarships

The New Ulm Area Chamber of Commerce Foundation is pleased to award two $500 scholarships New Ulm area graduates, Abigail Riederer and Emily Guggisberg.  Abigail Riederer is a graduate from Minnesota Valley Lutheran and plans to attend Upper Iowa University pursuing a degree in business and marketing. Emily Guggisberg is a graduate from Cathedral High School and plans on attending South Dakota State University pursing a degree in horticulture.

These two are the first recipients ever of a scholarship from the New Ulm Area Chamber of Commerce Foundation, which was founded in 2020. The scholarships offered were intended for area youth to pursue further education beyond high school, to include but not limited to trade school, junior college, certificate programs and universities. This scholarship is designed for high school graduates to provide financial assistance as they pursue skills training or degree curriculum, with an emphasis on business, hospitality, or trades. Additional scholarship opportunities will be available in 2023.
