New Partner at Gislason & Hunter

Daniel Schwartz has been named partner at Gislason & Hunter Attorneys at Law.    The New Ulm Area Chamber of Commerce’s Willkommen committee recently visited Schwartz to congratulate him.  Dan has a focused expertise as a business attorney. He began his career with a large Minneapolis-based law firm, representing financial institutions, cooperatives and other businesses in the areas of mergers and acquisitions, private placements, bankruptcy and creditors’ remedies, secured transactions, business formation, corporate governance and commercial litigation.  Dan later left the city for the opportunity and privilege to work as corporate counsel for his family’s local agribusiness. He represented the company in connection with real estate and asset acquisitions, contract negotiation and drafting, local and state permitting, regulatory audits and internal compliance.  Drawing on his broad and diverse experience, Dan understands and appreciates the risks and choices businesses face during the course of a transaction or lawsuit. He is just as comfortable in the boardroom as he is in the courtroom protecting and advancing his clients’ interests. Dan received a Bachelor of Arts degree, magna cum laude, from the University of St. Thomas in 2005 and a Juris Doctor degree, magna cum laude, from the University of Minnesota Law School in 2008. Dan was named a Minnesota Super Lawyers Rising Star in 2015 and 2016.
