The New Ulm Area Chamber of Commerce’s Willkommen Committee stopped by Schells Brewery   to meet Curt Van Asten who is the new Visitor Center General Manager. He grew up in Green Bay Wisconsin but pursued his education in Minnesota with his bachelor’s degree in sports management from St. Mary’s University of Minnesota in Winona.  He then went on to get his master’s in sports management at Minnesota State University in Mankato.  He was a track athlete in college and upon graduation worked for Final Stretch, an event management company, that traveled the country planning and hosting races from 5K to marathons. He worked in other event promotion and management capacities before coming to Schell’s in New Ulm. He has served on many non-profit committees as well as on the Board for Visit Mankato. In 2017 he was awarded the Visit Mankato’s Travel and Tourism Attraction Ambassador for his work in promotion.  He is very excited to work at Schell’s and in New Ulm.
