Gag Sheet Metal, Inc. moves into new space!

The Willkommen Committee of the New Ulm Area Chamber of Commerce recently visited the new digs of Gag Sheet Metal Inc., located at 1500 North Front Street, in what used to home Windings. The entry way to the building is very unique, with a time-line look of the history of the company. There’s a picture of the original owner, George Gag, with his son’s Melvin & Elmer. Gag’s was opened in 1904 and at that time they also fixed and sold bikes until 1980. The business has been passed down through the Gag family and has seen a few different family co-owned circumstances. Most recently, John Gag and brother Steve co-owned the business after buying out their father in 2000, the brothers owned the business together until Steve stepped away from part-owner in 2012 but is still remains with the company. At that point Gag’s only offered heating and cooling services as well as commercial roofing. In 2013, John decided he wanted to add plumbing to their services so he attended plumbing school. Gag Sheet Metal has purchased companies Schaunas Heating and Cooling as well as Isakson Plumbing and Heating. The company has expanded so much over the years and now includes appliances, plumbing and drain services, heating and AC as well as flat roofing! They also offer 24/7 emergency heating and cooling as well as roofing services. Congratulations on your new home, Gag Sheet Metal!
