United Way has moved locations!

The Willkommen Committee of the New Ulm Chamber of Commerce stopped at the New Ulm Event Center, Suite 7 to check out the new office space for the United Way of Brown County! The committee met with Lori Pickell-Stangel and Sarah Lee, Director of Finance & Administration to see where Project Lunchbox has been put together in the expansive warehouse space in the Event Center. The United Way Offices are located upstairs, having moved from the John Lind House. They recently have undergone some other changes, including going paper-less and digital during the move. They are more excited to have all their projects in one place, which was an substantial reason for the move. They just had volunteers in to package about 3 weeks worth of weekend meals for the 174 kids they serve. This number has gone down slightly from peaking at 182 kids and only starting with 79 kids at the beginning of the school year. The United Way sees about 500 volunteers annually and currently is seeking volunteers for a spring Day of Caring. Day of Caring is on May 1 and those interested can contact the United Way at  507-354-6512. You can also sign up on the United Way website to help with yard work for Senior community members and those with disabilities; their website address is unitedwaybrowncountyarea.org. The new space looks amazing and the community appreciates all the work you do, keep it up United Way!
