We all scream for Eis Cream!  MN EIS – Ice Cream & Sweets Shoppe opened its doors on Thursday, June 18, 2020, and the mouth-watering scent of house-made waffle cones poured out.  The Willkommen Committee of the New Ulm Area Chamber of Commerce and Mayor Bob Beussman joined owners Greg and Bria James, and Lindsay Schweiss for a sweet ribbon cutting at the new shop.  As owners of a successful ice cream shop in Waconia, Greg and Bria were invited to explore New Ulm as a potential second location.  Greg said he came to New Ulm the very same day, visited several properties, and found “this gem” downtown at 10 North Minnesota Street.  Meanwhile, Lindsay, a New Ulmite who had visited Greg and Bria’s Waconia store but didn’t yet know they were looking in New Ulm, reached out to them with her interest in possibly opening an ice cream shop in town.  Things aligned and less than a year later MN EIS is open for business!  MN EIS serves super-premium ice cream (not available at your local grocery store), bulk candy (including chocolate dipped gummies), edible cookie dough by the scoop (or scoops), spaghettieis (probably the only place in MN where you can get this German specialty), and other sweet treats.
