The Willkommen Committee of the New Ulm Area Chamber of Commerce stopped at Drs. Akre & Clark Family Eye Care office recently to welcome new optometrist, Dr. David King! King comes to Minnesota from southwest Wisconsin, where he attended school in Madison and then later attended college in Bloomington at Indiana University. Dr. King said he first took interest in the field when he noticed blurry vision during a baseball game in the outfield, and was fascinated when he went to visit the eye doctor. He has always had a love for medicine, but saw himself doing more in the line of sports medicine or an athletic trainer. He now says he likes that he just focuses on one part of the body. Dr. King moved to New Ulm in June and started working at Akre & Clark in July. He splits his time between the New Ulm office and the Springfield office. Akre & Clark was founded in 1950 and will be celebrating 70 years in business next year! Congratulations and welcome to New Ulm, Dr. King!
