New Member: Sozial Restaurant & Bar
Sozial Restaurant and Bar

The Willkommen Committee recently visited the new Sozial Restaurant and Bar at 209 N. Minnesota St. to celebrate their ribbon cutting and to welcome them as new members of the Chamber.  Named using the German word for “social,” the new restaurant is inviting customers to be just that. Sozial features a comfortable atmosphere where friends can meet for an evening out and families can bring their children. They offer a variety of “comfort” foods, including bacon meatloaf, chicken parmesan and sirloin steak. Sozial’s menu also includes appetizers, salads, and a kids’ menu. Breakfast is served on weekends. The restaurant will host live music on Friday and Saturday nights beginning later this summer. Michele Seifert, who co-owns the restaurant with Jeff Overby, is a New Ulm native and jumped at the chance to open a restaurant. She previously worked from home, and admitted this is a big, but wonderful, change for her. Jeff came to New Ulm from Omaha, NE, looking for a small-town vibe akin to his hometown of Minot, ND. He’s been running restaurants for over 30 years, and loves the small-town New Ulm atmosphere and welcoming residents.
