The Willkommen Committee welcomed Jeffrey Smith as the new manager at Walgreens.  Jeff grew up in St. James and is a 2006 graduate of Minnesota Valley Lutheran High School.  He is an only child, his parents are still in St. James and he has relatives in the area.  He went on to Minnesota State University Mankato and South Central College.  He was a senior pharmacy tech at a Mankato Walgreens and then took on a management role.  He started working in New Ulm 9 months ago as an assistant manager and moved into the manager role in September.  Walgreens stores are pretty standardized, but he does carry some New Ulm logo-ed clothing.  Staffing is a challenge as it is with other businesses.  They are ramping up for the holiday season stocking the shelves with décor, gifts and treats.  Jeff said his pharmacy background is beneficial as he can jump in and help out if needed there or in any other department.  Welcome to New Ulm Jeff!
