Flowers in Downtown New Ulm
Downtown Flowers

New Ulm’s downtown, with its architecture, history, and events, is enjoyed daily by locals and tourists alike. The New Ulm Chamber and Visitor Center receives many compliments from visitors about having such a clean community and the beauty of the downtown flowers. The New Ulm Business & Retail Association is seeking donations to sponsor the downtown flowers. We are thankful to the businesses and community partners that contribute their time or money to make the flowers happen. We estimate New Ulm has planted flowers downtown for 30 years or more.

A lot of work goes into getting and maintaining the flowers that beautify downtown. The New Ulm Business & Retail Association requests bids each year. Teachers at New Ulm Public School volunteer their time to prepare the pots for planting.  The flowers are planted by volunteer efforts of the New Ulm Garden Club. Finally, volunteer John Rolloff leads a crew of volunteers who water the flowers daily. The 2017 flowers were purchased from Hacker’s Tree Farm Nursery & Greenhouse.

Anyone wishing to help sponsor this program may send a donation to the Chamber Office at 1 North Minnesota Street, PO Box 384, New Ulm, MN 56073. Please call 233-4300 or email chamber@newulm.com with any questions. Donations received by July 30th will be recognized in The Journal on August 13.
