New Principal at Cathedral High School!
William Schumacher, New Ulm Area Catholic Schools

The Willkommen Committee recently stopped at Cathedral High School to welcome the new principal William Schmacher.  William is not new to New Ulm; he attended elementary school at St. Mary’s.  He graduated high school in Aberdeen, South Dakota, and stayed there to earn his Bachelors degrees and Masters in Education Leadership and Administration from Northern State University.  His wife Lori is also from Aberdeen.  They moved to Omaha for 7 years while she was pursuing a medical degree and William taught elementary there.  They moved to Mankato almost 10 years ago, where William was middle school principal of Loyola Catholic School.  William says he’s surprised at the welcome he has received here in New Ulm.  Total enrollment at New Ulm Area Catholic Schools is currently 177, and the ratio is about 15 students per teacher. William is proud of the way faith is incorporated into teaching and everyday life at NUACS.  Welcome!
