In response to the various new employment cases, legislation, and rules at the State and Federal level in the past year, the New Ulm Area Chamber of Commerce hosted an Employment Law Update Seminar on Wednesday, August 3rd, 2016. The seminar was held at the New Ulm Community Center (600 N German Street, New Ulm) from 8:00 – 10:00 AM and was free of charge. It was co-sponsored by the MN Workforce Center and the City of New Ulm.
The seminar was presented by Cory Genelin, a partner in the firm of Gislason & Hunter, and covered the most important new changes in legislation in the past year. Mr. Genelin worked backwards chronologically explaining the importance of each new development and taking time to answer questions and welcomed comments and interaction from the audience. Cory Genelin is the Chair of Gislason & Hunter’s Employment, Labor, and Benefits Practice Group. He is currently the Legislative Chair of the Southern Minnesota Area Human Resources Association (SMAHRA).
