The New Ulm Area Chamber of Commerce is pleased to welcome Sioux Valley Gun Club as a new member!
According to Club President Jim Arndt, although Sioux Valley Gun Club officially formed its own board about 25–30 years ago, its history dates back to 1972, and its current facility was built in 1973. Today, the club is in the midst of a major fundraising effort to construct a new clubhouse to support its growing membership and programming.
Youth participation is the heart of the organization. Sioux Valley Gun Club proudly supports trap- and skeet-shooting teams from New Ulm Public Schools, Cathedral, and Minnesota Valley Lutheran, with more than 140–150 local youth shooting each season. They also partner with 4-H and collaborate with the Izaak Walton League. Minnesota is one of the fastest growing states for youth trap shooting participation, and the club hopes to continue growing opportunities and sparking interest in the sport.
As participation continues to rise, they plan to expand open shooting hours to better accommodate both youth and adults. The club provides guns to borrow, and members can purchase ammunition at discounted rates. They noted that shooting can also be a unique and fun option for business outings or team-building events.

Congratulations, Sioux Valley Gun Club, and welcome to the Chamber!
