The Willkommen Committee of the New Ulm Area Chamber of Commerce recently visited River Bend Education District to welcome several new teachers, paraprofessionals, and providers. River Bend serves around 200 students through a variety of programs, including RISE (developmental and cognitive delays), Imprints (behavioral and social needs), Raptor (autism support), and ALC (alternative learning). This year, eight new staff members have joined the school.

Stephanie Wurtzberger – Imprints science teacher, originally from Charleston, South Carolina, now living in Sleepy Eye with her husband and four children, including twins born in October 2024. 

Katie Wheelock – Principal for Imprints and Raptor, bringing 22 years of education experience and enjoying her new role after previously working at Southwest Metro. 

Nichole Voigt – RISE teacher, previously taught developmental and cognitive programs for 12 years in Sleepy Eye, now working with grades 5–8. 

Elizabeth Rodriguez – Speech language pathologist, a recent graduate in her first position, working in Sleepy Eye, GFW, and New Ulm. Recently married and new to the community. 

Kylie Kieper – Occupational therapist from Morgan, living in Springfield, married two years ago. 

DeAnn Frederick – Imprints teacher, originally from Raleigh, NC, subbed in the area for many years before accepting this role. 

Amy Keech – Imprints paraprofessional, longtime New Ulm resident who previously managed Searles Bar & Grill for 25 years. 

Nicole Anderson – Imprints teacher, New Ulm native, recently earned her Master’s degree after raising her family, and co-owns Pike Driving School with her husband.
