The Willkommen Committee of the New Ulm Area Chamber of Commerce recently visited MVAC Thrift & More to welcome new Store Manager, Thia Olson. 

Thia has been with MVAC for one year, previously working at the Mankato location before taking on the store manager role in New Ulm. While new to retail, she brings 20 years of management experience – five years overseeing nine hotels and 15 years in assisted living and group homes. Originally from Austin and now living in St. Peter, Thia is excited to become part of the New Ulm community and says she has already felt welcomed. 

MVAC Thrift & More helps support Minnesota Valley Action Council’s 22 programs that serve people across nine surrounding counties. The store accepts donations Monday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. of clean, resellable items and offers affordable shopping while raising funds for community programs.  Thia and her staff of 8-11 (including several volunteers) are planning new community events, including a “Truck or Treat” on October 26, which will fill the parking lot with support from neighboring business BeMobile.  Other businesses are welcome to contact her to participate!
