The Willkommen Committee of the New Ulm Area Chamber of Commerce recently welcomed Nila Alkshis as the new Store Manager at Shoe Sensation! 

Nila has been with the store for two years, starting as a back-up assistant before moving into management. A graphic artist by trade, she previously worked at Koozie Group before joining Shoe Sensation. Nila has lived in the area for 15 years, raising her child here, and is originally from a town of just 400 people – an experience that shaped her love of community.  She is eager to connect Shoe Sensation with more New Ulm events and has already done so through the Crazy Days Ping Pong Ball Drop and the Downtown Car & Bike Roll-Ins. She is also planning to participate in Oktoberfest and other local non-profits.

Shoe Sensation currently has four staff members and is hiring for part-time positions. Nila is passionate about helping the store grow, despite being “a little out of the way” on the edge of town. She emphasized that Shoe Sensation offers quality shoes at affordable prices, with the ability to order sizes not in stock. Some promotions are set by corporate, but Nila can also request deals and events locally to better serve the community.
