The Willkommen Committee recently held a ribbon cutting to celebrate Sugar Ruch as a new business and a new member of the New Ulm Chamber. Owner and sole baker Kayla Ruch started taste-testing for this new venture back in November, providing numerous samples for her son’s football teammates to try. Kayla is an accountant by trade and still works full time, but she loves to be in the kitchen and is excited to share more with the community. She offers her gourmet cookies in small amounts, such as a four-pack, but she has also provided the treats for several large events like graduation parties and weddings. There is a loyalty program for repeat customers. Sugar Ruch operates under a cottage food license, but Kayla is looking to expand and hopefully be able to offer more in the way of allergen-free options and getting more into decorating.
