The Willkommen Committee recently visited Walmart to welcome Deanna Vigil as the store’s new manager!  Deanna has been with Walmart for several years, working her way up from overnight shifts to roles including overnight assistant, front-end coach, digital coach, GM coach, to store lead.  She became store manager in New Ulm in April – on the very same day the store’s remodel project began. In addition to getting to know a new store and team, Deanna has also taken on a leadership role in the remodel. Having supported a similar project at a previous store, she brings valuable experience to the process.  

Deanna is eager to build a strong connection with the community and is excited to bring customers a refreshed and updated shopping experience. The remodel includes reorganizing departments throughout the store, adding more scan-and-go stations, introducing a grocery grab-and-go area, updating signage and sliding doors, and giving the building a fresh coat of exterior paint. A new mural in the grocery area will reflect the New Ulm community, and Deanna was especially pleased to share that the parking lot will also be resurfaced following the grand reopening.
