The Willkommen Committee recently held a ribbon cutting to celebrate Amilla Care Transport, LLC, as a new business and a new member of the New Ulm Chamber.  Owner and sole operator Elmer Rettig saw a growing need for taxi and transportation services in our community – and anticipates that need will only increase in the future. Elmer has a long background in driving through his work with the postal service, driving trucks and semis, and working for the previous taxi service in town, Red’s Rides.  Originally from the Brownton area, he now lives just outside of New Ulm and says he loves to drive and enjoys helping people.  

Amilla Care Transport operates a single van that can hold up to six passengers, with folding seats to accommodate walkers and wheelchairs. Elmer offers 24/7 on-call taxi service and delivery services for businesses and medical facilities, anything that needs to be transported. Licensed in Minnesota, South Dakota, and Iowa, Elmer answered the question “How far do you go?” with “How far would you like to go?”
