The Willkommen Committee recently visited with St. Croix Hospice to welcome them as new members of the New Ulm Area Chamber. St. Croix Hospice was founded in 2009 and provides services in New Ulm, as well as across 10 states providing 24/7 care through their staff which includes nurses, aides, and chaplains. They also have music therapists and specialty programs. They provide comfort care and do things at the leisure of the patients and their families: “We go where the patient lives.” In addition, they have volunteers who will visit with the patients, grocery shop for them, or even watch vigil so that patients are not alone during this time.
In order to receive hospice care, there is first an order from a doctor when diagnosed treatment is ended, whether by the doctor’s advice or the patient/family’s choice, followed by an assessment and consultation. St. Croix Hospice encourages potential patients to research other options to find the best fit for them. Services can be covered by insurance and are free through Medicare.
Located at 111 Star Street, Suite 109, in Mankato, if you’re interested in learning more, visit www.stcroixhospice.com or call (507) 900-5169. Thank you, St. Croix Hospice, for your investment in the New Ulm Chamber!
