The Willkommen Committee recently held a ribbon cutting at Sota Street Studio to celebrate their new business and welcome them as a Chamber member.   Owner and operator, Tami Hanson, says her dream to have a “paint your own pottery” studio was born when she went to one in Minot, North Dakota, with her daughters last May.  She had such a great time and just knew that New Ulm needed something like this.  Tami grew up in New Ulm, lived in Arizona and California for a time, and moved back to New Ulm about five years ago with her husband Johnny.  They both have full-time jobs and run the studio in their “spare” time.  Sota Street Studio is open five days a week (Wednesday through Sunday), they take walk-ins of up to 6 people, provide all of the tools needed to complete the painting projects, and even have grab-and-go kits with instructions for those who don’t have the time to come in and paint. They also welcome private reservations for events, such as bachelorette parties, staff team-building, birthday parties, etc, and can accommodate up to 44 guests.  In addition to hosting special events and deals, Sota Street Studio also plans to work with other local businesses, so keep an eye out for those fun collaborations!
