The Willkommen Committee recently welcomed the Children’s Museum of Southern MN as a new member of the New Ulm Area Chamber of Commerce!  Jaci Sprague, Vice President of Development, and Crystal Olson, Development Manager, gave a brief history and explained the philosophy of the museum.  Founded in 2015, the Children’s Museum is a non-profit facility with many different exhibits based on play to give kids the opportunity to do activities that promote their emotional and physical development.  The exhibits and the many programs are designed to “stimulate inquiry, spark curiosity, and review the wonders of STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math).  Current exhibits include a tree house, a quarry, the Dakota Experience, Healthy Me, H2O Go, and the North Woods Cabin. Currently, the target age of the Children’s Museum is 0 to 9 years old, though they plan to expand in the next three years, appealing to ages up to 12 years old.

Located at 224 Lamm Street in Mankato, if you are interested in learning more, you can visit their website www.cmsouthernmn.org, call 651-208-4613, or check out their social media for heartwarming photos and videos of kids enjoying the facility.  Thank you, Children’s Museum of Southern Minnesota, for choosing to join the New Ulm Chamber!
