The Willkommen Committee recently held a ribbon cutting at Alliance Training Center to celebrate their new business and to welcome them as a new member of the New Ulm Chamber of Commerce. Owner and trainer Amanda Wendinger had been a stay-at-home mom to six kids for years until she decided to go back to school. She graduated from MSU with an exercise science degree at the same time as her eldest child. She also has her certificate as a strength and conditioning coach. She started her training business out of her garage as a hobby, then began renting space at Crossfit, where she was working with 50 different student athletes. She bought the old Alliance Bank building at 336 N Minnesota St in November of last year. Throughout the last year, she worked with 174 athletes, 75 in this month alone.
Amanda does her training in a class setting, working with no more than 20 kids at a time. She has strength and conditioning or sports performance programs for youth. Amanda is very passionate about helping kids work on their fundamentals, get stronger, and prevent overuse injuries. She shared that it’s very rewarding when she hears things from her students like they “feel more explosive” or “the pain’s gone” or “I just pitched my first no-hitter.”
Alliance Training Center also has other amenities like a golf simulator that is available to the public to rent. To learn more, visit their website atcnewulm.com, find them on Facebook, or call 507-766-5717. Thank you, Alliance Training Center, for your investment in New Ulm and for choosing to join the Chamber!
