In an effort to help the many businesses affected by COVID-19, local news outlets are offering a variety of programs, grants, and assistance that local businesses can take advantage of. We’ve compiled a list of the offerings here. Note that each of these media companies are members of the New Ulm Area Chamber of Commerce, and we applaud them for thinking creatively at this time and doing what they can to help all of our local businesses make it through this hard time.
KNUJ/SAM Radio – Ingstad Radio Network, the parent company of KNUJ/SAM, is donating over $1 million worth of advertising across 19 radio stations in 7 MN communities. Local businesses can offer products and services to be listed for free on their new online auction site – Wheeler Dealer MN “Buy Now, Buy Local”. The website launches on April 22.
The Journal, New Ulm – Ogden Newspapers, which operates The Journal, had established a $1 million matching grant program. They have exhausted those funds, but you can sign up and they will be in touch if and when more programs become available.
KEYC News Now – KEYC News Now is teaming up with local businesses to provide a listing of the latest hours of operation and services. List your business for free! They are also offering a paid package where businesses can deliver a message of their choice to the community.
Alpha Media – Alpha Media is offering an ‘All for One… And One for All” deal. With every paid commercial you run on any of their stations, you get a matching free commercial AND another FREE commercial given to the charity of choice, non-profit, or just to run a thank you campaign letting front line workers know you appreciate what they are doing!
The Free Press Media – The Free Press is offering all print and digital packages as buy 1, get 1 free. They are also offering digital at $5 cpm, compared to the average of $15-$25.
Radio Mankato – Radio Mankato is offering a variety of opportunities across their 7 stations. They are doing FREE small business interviews that air randomly on all stations. They have a Restaurant Rescue website, and are offering advertising in exchange for gift certificate sales in their Big Deals Online Store. You can also customize your own marketing plan with them.
Comcast Xfinity – Comcast Business has teamed up with some other industry leaders to help you find new ways to keep your business moving forward and connect with your teams and customers in innovative ways.
