July 11, 2017Welcome BMX Racers!

On Sunday, July 9th, River Valley BMX will be hosting a State Championship Race here in New Ulm! State Championship Races take place throughout the summer at the 11 tracks around Minnesota, and this Sunday, New Ulm is happy to host! The event will begin at 9 a.m. and is set to go on until 3 p.m. There will be between 300-400 competitors plus family and friends. Track operator, Dan Bauer estimates the event will bring over 1,000 people to New Ulm. Racers come from all over the state, bordering states, or even Canada to compete! The competitors that do well in the State Championship Races will race in the Final at the end of the summer.
River Valley BMX offers competitive racing for boys and girls of all ages. In BMX, no one sits on the bench and no one gets cut from the team. If you show up the day of the race, you’re guaranteed to race! Check them out, maybe it’s the perfect sport for you or your child! If you want to sign up, show up to the track on a Monday night and your first trial race is free. Practice takes place every Thursday night and they don’t require parents to volunteer like in other sports. Currently, New Ulm has about 40 racers.
Good luck racers and welcome to New Ulm! Spectators always get in for FREE, so go check it out this weekend!
