Chamber Priorities
2012-2013 Priorities
Community Development – Continue Workforce Development efforts to include attracting young families/retaining young professionals, youth and adult leadership and awareness programs, a “green” initiative, and support of local health initiatives and business incentive programs; support other efforts to recruit and retain retail and industrial development.
Membership Development – Focus on efforts to retain and recruit members and businesses of all kinds, manufacturing, retail, service, tourism, in affiliation with other entities of like interest, through communications and round-table discussions, evaluation and quantification of benefits, member survey analysis and member recognition.
Public Policy – Determine member concerns for the purpose of informational meetings; be the proactive voice of business in local and government issues, advocating on their behalf when deemed appropriate. Provide educational and useful information to businesses therefore enhancing the Chamber’s Image as an educational resource.
Retail – Promote the general business district by supporting retail promotions and activities, including ways to increase downtown activity through a more aesthetic and lively experience.
Tourism – Increase tourism through a comprehensive marketing plan, increased effectiveness of our website, and a quality visitor experience.
Administrative/Operations – Maintain a strong, efficient and financially healthy governance, administrative base and advanced social media applications.
