Mayor Proclamation: Small Business Saturday
Small Business Saturday Mayor Proclamation

Small businesses create jobs, boost the economy and invigorate neighborhoods around the country.  From the restaurant that serves up the most flavorful potpie to the florist designing beautiful arrangements day after day, small businesses around the country are gearing up for the start of the holiday shopping season with Small Business Saturday. It’s no different here in New Ulm, Minnesota! Our local businesses are hoping for a welcome boost in holiday sales from local shoppers on Saturday, November 26th. Held each year on the Saturday following Thanksgiving, Small Business Saturday is a day to support the local businesses that create jobs, boost the economy and preserve neighborhoods around the country.

There are a TON of local promotions and events happening in New Ulm on Small Business Saturday.

To recognize the importance of small businesses in New Ulm, the Mayor of New Ulm, Bob Beussman (pictured above with Chamber President/CEO Audra Shaneman), has issued the following proclamation:

Whereas, the government of New Um, Minnesota, celebrates our local small businesses and the contributions they make to our local economy and community; according to the United States Small Business Administration, there are currently 28.8 million small businesses in the United States, they represent 99.7 percent of all businesses with employees in the United States, are responsible for 63 percent of net new jobs created over the past 20 years, and
