New Ulm Announces 2016 Festival Schedule

New Ulm, Minnesota, has been called “The City of Festivals”, a fitting name for the community which hosts many celebrations throughout the year!  New Ulm has a population of 13,000+ and is known for its German heritage and historic sites.  It is home to the Hermann Monument, August Schell Brewing Company, Flandrau State Park, and many other genuine attractions. 

The city, in the picturesque Minnesota River Valley, is fun to visit any time of the year, but locals and tourists alike love to celebrate the many festivals held here!  Just in time for summer vacation planning, New Ulm announces its 2016 Festival Schedule:  Mai Fest at Morgan Creek Vineyards – May 7; Bacchus Fest at Morgan Creek Vineyards – May 21; Autofest – June 26; Bavarian Blast – July 15-17; HermannFest – September 10; and Oktoberfest – October 7-8/14-15. 

New Ulm has many other activities and events scheduled throughout the year, including: Spring Boutique Week – April 14-16; monthly Car Hop & Shop Classic Car Cruise In – May 12, June 9, July 14, August 11, and September 8; Crazy Days – July 15-16; Brown County Free Fair – August 10-14; 1862 US-Dakota War Commemoration – August 15-21; Holiday Shopping Opener – November 4-6/11-13; Parade of Lights – November 25; and Christmas Luminaries at Schell’s Brewery – December 24-25.
